Award winners again!


Early June saw us pick up BFFF awards for three delicious pies. 

The awards are organised by the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF), and presented at the trade association’s annual gala dinner dance held at the London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane. 

These long-standing awards are now in their thirtieth year and are recognised throughout the frozen industry as a prestigious accomplishment.

Nominated products are judged by representatives of the highly regarded Craft Guild of Chefs, who are experts in their field, and come from across all areas of the foodservice & hospitality sectors.  

All the dishes are bespoke creations, where we have worked in close partnership with customers to develop innovative, delicious menu creations to offer to their diners.

Our award-winning products are:

Silver - " ‘Best New Main Course / Meal Centre product’ awarded to our Chicken, Leek & Crème Fraiche Pie with a Ham Ciabatta Crumb. This delicious pie is on Mitchell & Butlers Premium Country Pubs menu. 

Bronze - " ‘Best New Multi Portion Product’ awarded to our Minced Beef & Onion Pie which appears on menus of two Mitchells & Butlers Sizzling Pubs & Oaktree Pubs. 

Bronze - " ‘Best New Meat Free / Vegetarian Product’ awarded to our Cheshire Cheese & Bramley Apple Tart which appears on Whitbread’s Table Table menu.

Winners at the Domino's Supplier Conference


We were delighted to be winners again this year at the Domino’s Supplier Conference. We proudly received the ‘No 1 for Service 2016’ award, which acknowledges our commitment and highlights our successful partnership.

The awards recognise the efforts of Domino’s suppliers across a number of categories and underline the importance of the operator supplier relationship.

No1 for Service 2016 Award Feb 2017

The Hot Chef TABASCO® brand challenge is back!


‘Slow-cook’ is a big trend on out of home menus and offers endless possibilities for chefs to pack dishes full of flavour. That’s why we are asking catering students to come up with an innovative and exciting slow-cooked dish, accompanied by two side dishes, using TABASCO® brand pepper sauces. 

Flavour, taste and ease of service in a pub or brasserie environment are the key criteria against which the entries will be judged. The judging panel is made up from members of the Craft Guild of Chefs, as well as experts from the food industry and the TABASCO® brand corporate chef. 

The winning dish will be considered to go onto a Whitbread menu. Dave Rust, Executive Chef at Whitbread; ‘The Hot Chef Competition is a prestigious event that as a business, Whitbread are delighted to support once again. Last year’s winner, Gaia Tomasin deservedly won the Street Food Challenge and the Whitbread Food Team developed her winning entry into a commercially and operationally viable dish. Gaia’s TABASCO® chicken burger will feature on Beefeater’s menus from September 2016 and in 2017. We’re equally excited to see innovative slow-cook recipes in the Hot Chef 2017 challenge. I look forward to being part of this great competition that showcases the up and coming talent within our industry.’

TABASCO® Brand Specials at Ed’s Easy Diner


From today, a range of TABASCO® brand specials are available from Ed’s Easy Diner.  The TABASCO® brand menu will be here for a limited time only, until the 31st of July.  
The menu is supported by a weekly social media competition; with a chance to win a Bucketful of personalised TABASCO® Mini Bottles every week throughout the promotional period on Facebook and Twitter.  

All four flavours of TABASCO® are available to use in store to add a kick of TABASCO® brand pepper sauce to your meal at Ed’s. The flavours include;
Green - " Mild & zingy, made with Jalapeňo pepper
Chipotle - " Slightly spicy and deliciously smoky
Red - " The Original, spicy as you know it!
Habanero - " Super Spicy for a hot & fruity kick

The brand specials include some of the Ed’s favourites, with a twist. Such as ‘No smoke without Fire - 'Smoky Joe’s Burger’ with TABASCO® brand BBQ sauce and a Super Spicy Chilli Dog, their famous hot dog with a kick of TABASCO® Habanero sauce.

Helen to run the Cheltenham Half Marathon!


Having never run before, Helen has decided to enter the half marathon on September 23rd to fundraise for EPIC: a charity supporting Children and Young People with Epilepsy in Gloucestershire.  
Helen’s son Jimi was diagnosed with epilepsy 3½ years ago at the age of 3. He suffers from a rare type of epilepsy called Landau Kleffner Syndrome.  His cognitive development stalled and some of his skills regressed when the epilepsy started.  With help of steroid treatment, he is now slowly re-gaining skills. Their family life has changed massively since Jimi was diagnosed.   It is heart-breaking to see Jimi have regular seizures and indescribably tough having to cope with a serious, long-term condition.  

Children with epilepsy are more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression than their peers. EPIC funds mental health care supporting children in Gloucestershire with epilepsy. In addition to this, EPIC also organises social events for children and young people with epilepsy and funds diagnostic equipment.

Having never run before, Helen started her training at the beginning of the year. She is doing immensely well & building up the miles!

New presentation & development facilities at Oasis


The unveiling of the brand new Oasis presentation kitchen with adjoining meeting room and product development lab took place in autumn last year.
We are enormously proud of the purpose built development, presentation & meeting facilities which are a true asset to the business.  The lab is the hub of all Oasis product development.  It is only steps away from both the factory & main offices.

The fully equipped presentation kitchen is an amazing facility allowing us to prepare, test & present products from our entire portfolio of Flagship Europe products.  The large adjoining meeting room provides a truly practical solution on presentation days.

Winners again at The British Pie Awards


Flagship Europe are winners again this month, this time at the 2016 British Pie Awards!
The prestigious event saw us pick up 6 Gold, 6 Silvers, 5 Bronzes and 2 Highly Recommended Awards for our Oliver James pies. We are extremely proud of our success, and continual product development that allows us to create such innovative and delicious menu options for our customers!

Flagship wins Excellence in Innovation Award


At the Mitchell and Butlers Pub Group Supplier Conference, Flagship Europe won the prestigious award for Excellence in Innovation.

This is such a wonderful accolade voted for by the Mitchells & Butlers Food Development Management Team who is one of our premier customers.

The award is for outstanding contribution in Food Innovation throughout product and dish development.  Inspiration is taken from food trawls across the UK / EU and US by our Food Development Team at Flagship led by Lee Tynan.

We determine new trends by understanding market changes; thereafter apply our insight, food knowledge & creativity to develop marketable targeted fully finished dishes that are M&B brand specific.

A special mention must go to Nick Harris who has worked tirelessly to develop his network and relationships within the Food Development Team at M&B ably supported by Adam Dobbs as-well as a huge thanks to Max and Claire at Oasis this is a wonderful team effort.

Skewered chunks of tender chicken breast meat always go down well on any menu so Flagship Europe has got straight to the point and launched this popular and healthy option in two sizes to serve as a starter, main course or buffet treat.

These ready-cooked skewers are packed with bite-sized chunks of chicken that are both tender and succulent. Choose from the 25g skewers, perfect for starter dishes, event catering and buffet table nibbles, or size up with the generous 50g skewers that can make a satisfying main course served with rice and a side salad for example.


Both sizes are carefully skewered with fully cooked plain chicken breast meat and can be served as they come, or finished with a tasty sauce if desired, opening up a wealth of recipes to ring the changes.

Thick and Creamy



A thaw and serve Chocolate and Praline Profiterole, guaranteed to give you a choux in for making a profit, is now available from Flagship Europe.


Stuffed full of rich hazelnut cream, the light choux puff is coated with luxurious dark Belgian chocolate and crushed hazelnuts, providing an indulgent addition to any buffet table or restaurant menu. The bite-sized treat would even make a delicious accompaniment to a cup of tea or coffee.


For a colourful dessert with a difference, serve two or three profiteroles on a skewer, interspersed with chunks of fresh fruit such as pineapples, strawberries and cherries, finished with mint leaves.


The 18g Chocolate and Praline Profiteroles, a twist on the traditional cream filled variety, are supplied frozen and packed 196 pieces to a case. Flagship Europe recommends serving them when still a little frozen at the inside. For best results, take them out of the freezer and let them thaw in the fridge for around 10 minutes.


Flagship Europe Team complete the Snowdonia Challenge


The team of 4 took part in a 3-stage event set in the stunning Snowdonia National Park. They cycled 40 miles, climbed Snowdon and canoed Lake Gwynant raising an amazing sum of £7,057.65 for Regain; a charity that supports men and women paralysed in sporting accidents.  
Their fund-raising efforts put them in second place for the total amount raised per team.   The team was made up of Peter Doy (Sales Director), Nigel Parkes (Purchasing & Marketing Director), Lorraine Cumming (NPD Manager) and Mike Wood (Operations Director).  They enthusiastically tackled the hills, mountain & lake ….plenty of fun & laughs throughout the day, followed by a much deserved relaxing evening!! 
Snowdonia Challenge



The autumn weather may be turning a little chilly but things are hotting up at Flagship Europe with the launch of a range of super hot chili sauces, guaranteed to raise the temperature all round.


Bringing a taste of Mexico and beyond to the menu, the new Chipotle, Habanero and Jalapeno sauces meet the increasing demand for all things hot, adding a chili kick to chicken wings, burgers and seafood. Chipotle brings a distinct smoky flavour, Habanero a fruity heat, while Jalapeno offers a zesty zing. Use all three as a glaze to liven up chicken and beef, a simple dip to give a pop to finger foods, or mix with mayo for a spicy seafood cocktail base.


For a more traditional yet fiery flavour Flagship Europe has introduced a Mustard Mayo and an Apple BBQ sauce, perfect accompaniments to the company’s smoky BBQ hot dog sausages, also now available to make sure caterers have all the ingredients to hand to meet one of the country’s fast growing food trends.
